Pre-Doctoral Scholarship 1

CAS will support a scholarship for one pre-doctoral student to visit a research institution or another university abroad for up to one year: $15k

Selection criteria for Pre-Doctoral Scholarship #1:

  • A CAS Member for at least two years and is enrolled in a PhD program related to the fields of interest of CAS may submit a proposal (up to 3 pages) including:
  • CV (with academic records attached)
  • Certificate/evidence of the enrollment in a PhD program (student ID card)
  • Description of the PhD study plan
  • The expected outcome of the research program and how it advances the state-of-the-art
  • Endorsements from both institutions
  • Brief description of the importance of receiving the CAS scholarship
  • The nominations and applications for these student-oriented awards may be submitted throughout the year, and the awards may be made at any time during the year up to 15 October each year

Pre-Doctoral Scholarship 2

CAS will offer a pre-doctoral fellowship to recognize a young member enrolled in a PhD program in a field related to the Circuits and Systems Society field of interest.  The winner of the award will receive paid travel to ISCAS to receive the award: $25k (stipend of $15k, tuition and fees up to a maximum of $8k, and a grant of $2k to the department in which the recipient is registered)

  • A CASS Member for at least two years and is enrolled in a PhD program related to the field of interest of CAS may submit a proposal (up to 3 pages) including:
  • CV (with academic records attached)
  • Certificate/evidence of the enrollment in a PhD program (student ID card)
  • Description of the PhD study plan
  • The expected outcome of the research program and how it advances the state-of-the-art
  • Evidences showing the significance of the research (papers, patents)
  • Endorsement from his/her supervisor
  • The nominations and applications for these student-oriented awards may be submitted throughout the year, and the awards may be made at any time during the year up to 15 October each year

Student Travel Scholarship

CASS offers Student Travel Awards to enable the winners to present their research work at CASS-sponsored conferences and workshops. The amount of financial assistance provided to each student will be based on specifics of the travel involved and cannot exceed a maximum of $USD 2,000. The total award amount allocated will be $8,000, with $2,000 for each of R1-7, R8, R9, and R10.

Selection criteria for these Student Travel Awards:

  • Students receiving these awards must have had their papers selected for presentation at the CASS-sponsored conference(s) they plan to attend.
  • A faculty member must confirm that the nominee is an undergraduate or graduate student and that he/she is an IEEE CASS student member.
  • The nominee must furnish written proof that the paper was accepted at the conference (e.g. email notification from the Technical Program Committee).
  • The nominee must state in the application that he/she will attend the conference to present the paper.
  • The nominations and applications for these student-oriented awards may be submitted throughout the year, and the awards may be made at any time during the year up to 15 October each year
