Biomedical and Life Science Circuits and Systems (LiSSA/BioCAS TC)

Vision (Tentative)

“Our vision is to push the frontiers of health-care technology by a symbiotic relationship between the diverse circuits-and-systems and life-sciences communities, including the National Institutes of Health and other medical agencies. Recent advances in life-sciences, including genomics, proteomics, and metabonomics are beyond mere miniaturization of electronic devices in conventional biomedical applications. They involve new network theory and systems methods to make sense of the massive life-science datasets for developing the next generation of diagnostic, prognosis, monitoring, and therapeutics devices – including at the cellular and molecular levels. The new findings in life sciences inspire new design concepts in circuits-and-systems such as nano-drug delivery, regenerative neuroprosthetics, etc”.
