The IEEE Journal on Emerging and Selected Topics in Circuits and Systems (JETCAS) published its December 2017 issue on Advanced Baseband Processing Circuits and Systems for 5G Communications – an emerging research field enabling 5G from theory to practice.
The special issue brings together academic and industrial researchers to identify technical challenges and recent results related to the emerging techniques of baseband processing circuits and systems for 5G. The issue contains a survey paper and 11 papers on three themes: (1) massive MIMO, particularly signal processing and hardware challenges; (2) cost-efficient circuits and systems for 5G modulation and equalization: non-orthogonal modulation, FMBC equalization, new waveform related designs and others; and (3) advanced channel coding algorithms and implementations for 5G.
