BioCAS 2029 - Call for Bids
The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference (BioCAS) Steering Committee is soliciting proposals for IEEE BioCAS 2029.
BioCAS aims to rotate among three major global regions:
- Regions 1–6, 7, and 9 (Americas)
- Region 8 (Europe and Middle East)
- Region 10 (Asia and the Pacific)
For BioCAS 2029, preference will be given to proposals from regions 1–6, 7, and 9 (Americas), in line with the intended regional rotation. While regional diversity is encouraged, the selection will ultimately prioritize the highest-quality proposal. If no strong proposal is received from the region scheduled in the rotation, preference may be given to a more competitive bid from another region.
The conference should span three days and avoid overlap with other major society events. Late October is the preferred timeframe.
Currently, we are soliciting Expressions of Interest.
The Expression of Interest needs to include the following information, please identify the 6 main sections with these numbers:
- The name of the General Chair and Key Committee members with their uniform resume (one page each identifying their current or past involvement in CASS leadership, CASS conferences, and previous BioCAS conferences.
- Note that the three General Chairs should come from different regions (e.g., one from Regions 1–7 and 9, one from Region 8, and one from Region 10). The TPC Chairs should include one TPC Chair from BioCAS 2028 and one representative from the bidding organizing committee, with an additional TPC Chair from BioCAS 2030 to be added at a later stage.
- Details on any sponsoring organizations, including IEEE OU's and any outside organizations
- Lead Contact for local hosts and contact details
- Proposed destination and venue
- Estimated budget, including registration fees
- A letter of commitment from the General Chair to present the proposal at the BioCAS 2026 SC meeting if the letter of intent is accepted
The Expression of Interest may not exceed three pages (the General Chair/Key Committee members' resumes (one page each) are not included in the three-page maximum).
Submit the Expression of Interest electronically to the webform linked below by 11:59 PM EDT (UTC -4:00) on 19 July 2026.
Proposers will receive notification by 14 August 2026 if their Expression of Interest is accepted. The accepted proposers will present a full proposal at BioCAS 2026 in Incheon, Korea (October 8 – 10, 2026) if the Expression of Interest is accepted. If the bidding team is selected to move forward, the full bid should be submitted to the (Click to show email) by 1 October 2026.
