Amit Kumar Singh is currently an Associate Professor and Head with the Computer Science and Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology Patna, Bihar, India. He received his PhD from National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, Haryana, India in 2015.

He has authored over 300 peer-reviewed journal, conference publications, and book chapters. He has authored and edited of 15 books with internationally recognized publishers such IET, Springer, Elsevier and CRC.

Dr. Singh have been recognized as "WORLD RANKING OF TOP 2% SCIENTISTS" in the area of “Biomedical Research" (for Year 2020) and "Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing" (in Year 2020-2024) according to the survey given by Stanford University, USA. He is the Visiting Professor at the Security and Optimization for Networked Globe Laboratory (SONG Lab) at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), United States and International Center for AI and Cyber Security Research and Innovations (CCRI), Asia University, Taiwan. Currently, Dr. Singh is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics Letters (TCEL), Senior Area Editor, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, Area Editor, Information Fusion, Elsevier, and Associate Editor of IEEE Trans. On Multimedia, IEEE Trans. Computat. Social Syst., IEEE J. Biomed. Heal. Informatics, Etc. He is the recipient of the IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (TMM) Excellent Editor Award in 2024. Dr. Singh is the series editor of The IET International Book Series on “Multimedia Information Processing and Security”, and "Multimedia and Multimodal Intelligence", CRC Press. He has edited various international journal special issues as a lead guest editor. He is the senior member of IEEE and ACM. His research interests include multimedia data hiding, image processing, biometrics, & Cryptography.
