Dr. Georgios Ch. Sirakoulis received his Diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (1996) from the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh), Greece, and for his Diploma Thesis he received a prize of distinction from the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). In 2001, he received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. He is Professor with tenure in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace (2008-today). Moreover, he is EUROPRACTICE representative for DUTh, and he has served as a member at the EU IDEAS programme. Furthermore, he is Associate Editor in “IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology“, “Microelectronics Journal“, “Integration, the VLSI Journal“, “Journal of Cellular Automata“, “International Journal of Parallel, Emergent and Distributed Systems“, “International Journal of Unconventional Computing“, “Parallel Processing Letters“, “Journal of Applied Matehematics“, “Recent Advances on Electrical & Electronic Engineering“.
Currently he is principal investigator/responsible of the following on-going funded scientific project: MEM-Q: Memristive nanomaterials and electronic devices for quantum and neuromorphic computing (GSRT funding for period 2018-2020). He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE), of the IEEE Computer Society, of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), of HiPEAC, of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) and TEE. He is general co-chair of NANOARCH 2018, and he served as general co-chair of PACET 2017, ACRI 2014 Conference (Cellular Automata for Research and Industry), ACRI 2012, SFHMMY 10, SFHMMY 5, and of several Special Sessions in IEEE NANO 2015, PDP 2015, HiPEAC CSW 2014, PCI 2014, PDP 2014, ICECS 2013, etc. His courses lab activities are sponsored by ARM, Freescale, Xilinx, Altera and Nvidia.
