Hyomin Choi is a senior staff engineer at the AI Lab, InterDigital, in Los Altos, CA, USA. He received the Ph.D. degree in engineering science from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada, in 2022. He was a research engineer at the System IC Research Center, LG Electronics, Seoul, Korea between 2012 and 2016. His research interests encompass end-to-end learning-based image/video coding, video coding for machines, and machine learning with applications in multimedia processing. He currently serves MPEG FCM standard activities as a SW Coordinator. He received the 2017 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, the 2023 Governor General's Gold Medal from Simon Fraser University, and the 2023 IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology Best Paper Award. He is currently a Member of the IEEE-CAS Multimedia Systems and Applications Technical Committee.
