Dr.-Ing. Lennart Bamberg leads the Advanced Computer Architecture Group, serving as a Chief Processor Architect, at NXP Semiconductors in Hamburg, Germany, where he focuses on the development of energy-efficient processors and AI accelerators for edge computing systems.
Prior to his role at NXP, he served as Technical Director for Processor Architecture at GrAI Matter Labs, where he worked on neuromorphic-inspired hardware for real-time AI processing. The company was later acquired by Snap Inc.
Lennart Bamberg received the PhD degrees in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Bremen , Germany, in 2019, with summa-cum-laude. In 2019, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA.
His academic work has been recognized with two Best Paper Awards at IEEE conferences, and includes contributions to interconnect design and system integration.
Lennart is also active in education, serving as a guest lecturer at both the University of Bremen and the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), teaching courses on embedded system design, edge AI hardware, and system-level architecture.
His ongoing work bridges academic research and industrial development, with a focus on designing scalable, energy-efficient platforms for intelligent embedded systems.
