Dr Marion McAfee, MEng, Ph.D., is a Senior Member of the IEEE and her research interests are in sensing, modelling and control in applications encompassing advanced manufacturing, medical devices, and autonomous systems. Current projects include development of Digital Twins and data-driven control systems for advanced manufacturing of complex products such as smart medical devices, drug delivery systems, green energy storage devices, perception systems for cobots and autonomous vehicles; and mathematical and computational modelling for sustainability.

She an Associate Director of the ARC (Accelerating research to Commercialisation) Hub for HealthTech and a Funded Investigator in I-Form, the Research Ireland Centre for Advanced Manufacturing. She is also Co-Director of MISHE, the ATU Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Intelligent Systems for Health and Environment.
