Muhammad Awais Bin Altaf received his Ph.D. in Microsystems Engineering from Khalifa University in 2016, including a research appointment at MIT. He served as an Assistant Professor and led the IC Design Lab at LUMS, Pakistan, from 2016 to 2022, and later worked at Microvision as a Senior Staff ASIC Design Engineer. He is now an Assistant Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western Washington University. His research focuses on digital IC design, embedded systems, energy-efficient applied AI, and ultra-low-power circuits and systems for vision applications, and he serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE TBioCAS. He is a 2025 awardee of the IEEE SSCS/EDS SEED initiative, supporting global semiconductor education and outreach.
