Dr. Nalla Anandakumar is a hardware security expert with over 20 years of international experience spanning Singapore, the USA, and India. He is currently a Principal Security Evaluator & Researcher at SGS Brightsight, Singapore. His previous roles include Senior Specialist in Security and Privacy at Continental Automotive, Singapore, and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Florida Institute for Cyber Security Research (FICS), University of Florida. He has also worked as a Scientist at the Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS), India, and as a visiting researcher at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
He holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIIT-Delhi and has led several government and industry-sponsored hardware security projects. His expertise includes hardware security and cryptography, focusing on efficient implementation of cryptographic primitives (symmetric and asymmetric algorithms), secure IP design, hardware security primitives (PUF, TRNG), and side-channel and fault injection attacks.
Dr. Anandakumar has authored a book and over 30 peer-reviewed publications and has reviewed more than 100 technical papers for journals and conferences. Dr. Anandakumar has served on technical program and organizing committees for renowned conferences including ICCAD, DATE, DAC, ISCAS, LASCAS, APCCAS, VLSID, INDOCRYPT, and SPACE.
Dr. Anandakumar is a Senior Member of IEEE and an active member of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS), including the Circuits and Systems for Communications (CASCOM) and Hardware Security Standards Committee (HSSC). He served as Secretary of the HSSC from 2023 to 2025 and is currently the Working Group Vice Chair for the IEEE Standard on Hardware Security: Attack Landscape and Protection Requirements. He also serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II (TCAS-II).
