Susnata Mondal received the B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur in 2015, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, in August 2020. His doctoral research focused on millimeter-wave hybrid beamforming architectures for beyond-5G wireless systems. Since 2020, he has been a Research Scientist at Intel Labs, Hillsboro, OR, working on co-packaged optics and high-speed I/O circuits and architectures.

He has published several lead-author papers at the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) and in the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC), and has filed 18 U.S. patents. All wireless-domain patents from his Ph.D. research are exclusively licensed to TeraSpatial Inc., a Carnegie Mellon spin-off.

Dr. Mondal’s honors include the IEEE SSCS Predoctoral Achievement Award (2019), the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award from CMU ECE (2021), and selection as an IEEE SSCS Rising Star (2020). He will serve as an Associate Editor for IEEE TCAS-I and IEEE TCAS-II starting in 2026.
