Dr. Nikoubin is a Professor of Instruction in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. He received Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran, in 2009 and M.Sc. and B.Sc., both in Electrical Engineering-Electronics, from K.N.T. University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. He was a postdoctoral researcher at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, UAS, from 2012 to 2013.

His research interests are broadly in Embedded AI and Edge Devices, low-power VLSI design, Approximate computing, Hardware and ML, and Portable and Wearable Electronics. He is an IEEE senior member and served as general chair of the DCAS conference in 2020 & 2022; he was the publication chair of GLSVLSI 2022 & 2023 and special section chair GLSVLSI 2024.
