Presentation
The Southern School of Microelectronics (EMicro) and the Southern Symposium of Microelectronics (SIM) are regional events organized by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) and the Brazilian Society of Microelectronics (SBMicro) and the IEEE CASS Rio Grande do Sul Chapter (CASS-RS). The events bring together internationally recognized speakers, serving as a reference for the community and playing an important role in the dissemination of microelectronics. EMicro and SIM are primarily aimed at students of technical, undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science and Informatics, Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering, as well as faculty members of these courses.

The EMicro/SIM 2024 events will be held at IFSul – Campus Bagé, in Bagé,from 6-10 May from 30 September to 3 October 2024. The event program will reflect the themes and interests in the field of circuits and systems, and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and results. The events will also offer a wide range of special sessions and lectures given by prominent experts, covering key areas of microelectronics research.

Objectives
Promote the dissemination of knowledge in the design of electronic and computer systems using integrated circuits. Provide students and professionals in computing and engineering with contact with cutting-edge topics in microelectronics research. Integrate the microelectronics community. Provide a forum for discussion on the training of human resources in the area, which is necessary for the development of the electronic goods and services industry in the country. Provide a forum for discussion and/or proposals for public policies for the development of microelectronics in the South region and in Brazil.
