The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS) Seasonal School on Energy Harvesting for IoT Devices (EH4IOT) was successfully held on 16th – 17th December 2025 at the Kulliyyah of Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia, bringing together about 20 participants from across Malaysia for an intensive technical learning programme. The Seasonal School attracted a diverse group of industry professionals, postgraduate and undergraduate students, comprising IEEE CAS, IEEE and non-IEEE members. Participants represented institutions and organizations nationwide, reflecting strong interest in sustainable and energy-aware solutions for emerging IoT applications. The programme was designed to provide a comprehensive overview of energy harvesting technologies for IoT and wearable devices, covering energy sources, power management, and system integration. Technical lectures introduced fundamental concepts in ambient energy harvesting, with selected sessions discussing vibration energy harvesting as part of the broader technical landscape. A key highlight of the Seasonal School was the industry–academia forum, which facilitated open discussions on real-world challenges, technology readiness, and the translation of research into practical applications. The forum provided valuable perspectives on industry needs, commercialization barriers, and future collaboration opportunities. In addition, participants took part in a guided visit to the Electronics Laboratory, where they were introduced to experimental setups, measurement facilities, and ongoing research activities related to energy harvesting and low-power circuit design. Overall, the IEEE CAS Seasonal School served as a platform for knowledge exchange, skills development, and networking, reinforcing IEEE CAS’s commitment to capacity building and sustainable circuit and system design within the Malaysian engineering community. We extend our gratitude to all the speakers, participants, sponsors, and organizers whose contributions made this event a resounding success. We look forward to continued collaboration and advancements in the exciting intersection of energy harvesting, integrated circuits, and IOT technologies.
