He is a Professor at the National Engineering Research Center for Multimedia Software, School of Computer Science, Wuhan University. He has previously worked at the Computer Vision and Media Lab and the RIISE Institute, The University of Tokyo, Japan, as well as in Shin'ichi Satoh's Lab at the National Institute of Informatics, Japan. His research interests focus on multimedia content analysis and retrieval.
