Recent Amendments to the IEEE CAS Society Governing Documents

At its 28 May 2022 meeting, the Board of Governors (BoG) of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society passed amendments to the Society’s Constitution document updating the Field of Interest (FoI) to what is and has been our operating FoI, as well as general updates to bring the document to operational standards.

Procedures require approval by the Vice President (VP) of IEEE Technical Activities Board (TAB), which has already been secured, followed by a 30-day period for member objection. Publication here fulfills the latter portion of this approval requirement. The amendments are considered approved unless two percent or more of the Society’s membership objects, in writing, within the 30 days of publication - by 13 July 2022.   • Article II, Section 1
  • Article IV, Section 1
  • Article V, Sections 5, 9.1, 9.3, 10
  • Article VII, Section 6

Also, at our May 2022 meeting, the BoG approved amendments to our Society Bylaws. These changes are reflected in:

  • Bylaw II, Sections 3, 4, 5, 6
  • Bylaw IV, Sections 1.1, 3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, 5
  • Bylaw VI, Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
  • Bylaw VII, Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10
  • Bylaw VIII, Section 4
  • Bylaw IX, Sections 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8
  • Bylaw X, Section 2

These changes were introduced throughout 2021 to the Board of Governors and have been discussed and finetuned since this meeting.

Per the IEEE CASS Constitution, it is our duty to inform the Society Membership of these Bylaw changes via the Society Website.
