TCASAI Call for Editor-in-Chief Nominations 2027-2028

The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) invites nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Artificial Intelligence.

TCASAI publishes contributions related to circuits and systems for artificial intelligence, including circuit and electronic system design, implementation, and demonstration. 

We are currently seeking nominations and applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief for the 2027–2028 term.

Self-nominations are encouraged and the nominee must be a member in good standing of the IEEE and of one of the three sponsoring societies. Information on IEEE policies and guidelines regarding EiC responsibilities and duties can be found in Section 2.4 of IEEE Publication Services and Products Board Operations Manual.

About TCASAI

The IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Artificial Intelligence (TCASAI) publishes research focused on the design, implementation, and demonstration of circuits and electronic systems that enable artificial intelligence. The journal provides an important platform for sharing technical innovations at the intersection of circuits, systems, and AI, addressing the growing demand for scholarly publications in this rapidly evolving field.

TCASAI is financially sponsored by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society, and the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation, with technical sponsorship from the IEEE Electron Devices Society and the IEEE Nanotechnology Council. Through these collaborations, TCASAI serves as a dedicated venue for advancing research and innovation in hardware and system-level technologies for artificial intelligence.

Nominee Qualifications

Desirable qualities of the candidates include established, excellent publication records in TCASAI or related journals; preferred prior experience as an Editorial Board member; and unquestionable leadership, integrity, and ethical standards.  

To attract high-quality submissions, the EiC should be a recognized leader in their field with a deep understanding of the research community across academia, industry, and government laboratories. The EiC must also demonstrate awareness of emerging research directions and possess the administrative skills needed to manage the editorial process effectively.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential to maintain productive relationships with authors, editors, reviewers, and IEEE staff, as well as to recruit respected experts to serve on the Editorial Board.

Applications or nominations must include:

  • An application/nomination letter

  • A complete curriculum vitae (CV)

  • A personal statement summarizing their vision and plans for TCASAI

  • A letter from their employer indicating support for the EiC activity

  • The target start date for the new EiC is anticipated to be 1 January 2027.
