Zongyu Guo is now a Researcher at the Media Computing Group, Microsoft Research Asia. His research is primarily focused on neural compression and probabilistic models. He completed his educational journey at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), earning a B.S. degree in 2019 and a Ph.D. degree in 2024, both from the School of Information Science and Technology. During 2023, he visited the Machine Learning Group in University of Cambridge, which is an important period to him. His first-author paper won the Best Paper Award of IEEE Trans. on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT) 2025. He also have several academic papers published in top conference including NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR etc.
