Wideband Filtering Analog to Digital Converters
Presentation Menu
Wideband communication systems increasingly demand analog to digital converters (ADCs) that combine high dynamic range, large signal bandwidths, and strong out of band interference rejection. This talk introduces the emerging class of a wideband filtering ADC family, namely the continuous-time pipelined ADC, which tightly integrates anti-alias filtering directly into the converter architecture. These converters can attenuate strong interferers before digitization without compromising in band fidelity. The tutorial talk will explore the basics of such converters – both lowpass and bandpass, and show how they can achieve power efficiencies that are orders of magnitude improvements over the cascade of a stand-alone filter followed by an ADC.
