Alfredo Arnaud, (PhD - 2004, MsEng - 2000) has experience since 1999 in the development of integrated circuits and electronics for industry. His area of expertise is the design of analog and mixed circuits, and ultra-low-power embedded systems, particularly for medical and agribusiness applications. In 1999, he was part of the development team for an ASIC aimed at pacemakers, and since then has participated in several projects for implantable applications (AIMDs). He later leveraged this experience in analog and low-power circuits to develop electronics for RFID and IoT in the livestock industry. Alfredo Arnaud is the co-founder of three technology companies: BQN (http://www.bqn.com.uy ), where he led the development of custom POS devices, and Baqueano® an ISO 11784/85 RFID reader for livestock traceability and management; Chipamate, a small design house for ASICs for implantable devices; and ABM Engineering (http://ambsolutions.com.uy ) which offers design and consulting services. He has worked on projects for companies in Uruguay, Brazil, the United States, Canada, Belgium, and India. Dr.Arnaud also is with Universidad Católica del Uruguay since 2004 when he started uDIE (https://microdie.uy ) R&D group on microelectronics and IoT. He was the co-general chair of the IEEE Conference on Agrifood Electronics 2025 (https://2025.ieee-cafe.org/ ), held in Montevideo.
